Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas…

To those who breast or bottle fed.

To those who co-sleep or crib train.

To those who wear their babies or push a stroller.

To those who make all organic foods or heat up chicken nuggets.

To those who pee and shower with an audience.

To those who cook while holding a child.

To those with late night feedings and monster fighting.

To those who check under the bed and in closets.

To those who reran the washer.

To those who picked up the same toy for the 15 th time.

To those who burnt dinner.

To those who answered the same question multiple times.

To those living in sweats and yoga pants.

To those dealing with teething.

To those dealing with sass.

To those who have had a loss.

To those who feel like they’re on top of the world.

To those who feel like they’re failing.

Motherhood comes in all shapes and sizes.

It’s not about who can do it better.

It’s about doing the best YOU can do.

Motherhood comes in all shapes and sizes.

It’s not about who can do it better.

It’s about doing the best YOU can do.

“Motherhood is a choice you make everyday to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own.  To teach the hard lessons.  To do the right thing, even when you’re not sure what the right thing is.  And to forgive yourself over and over again for doing everything wrong.”

-Donna Bell

If you worry about being a good mother, you already are one.

If your children go to bed knowing they are loved and valued, you did your job.

You will never be the “perfect” mother because there isn’t a definition of one.  Instead, continue being the mother your child needs and that you know how to be.

That’s what makes a perfect mother.

Happy Mother’s Day to you, Momma.
