Meet Leah:

Leader for Mom’s Group

Hi everyone! My name is Leah and I co-lead mom's group. I met my husband, Justin, in 2009. We have 3 beautiful kids together. I might be biased, but they are some of my very favorite people on the planet. They're kind, funny, loving and creative. I came to The Nest because I was the first one of my friends to have a baby. I had grown up with Jenna, our founder, and the Nest seemed like a great way to gain community. It seemed like no one was in the same life stage as me which was hard. I was a wife, mom and student. Through the help of my family I was able to graduate with my Bachelor's in Biology. But life sometimes is very heartbreaking, and as a result I knew I didn't want to pursue a job in the medical field.

I continued coming to the Nest because the women were extremely compassionate to me. Our group continued to grow and our houses were no longer big enough for all the moms and babies to meet in. We ended up partnering with another Akron non-profit and getting a building, where we continue to meet regularly, at 752 Canton Rd in Akron.

I love the Nest and moms and what we do as an organization. Coming alongside families and meeting their needs wherever they're at became a passion of mine somewhere along the way. It's a joy for me serving alongside of some truly amazing and selfless people. It really has taught me so much throughout the years. If you haven't come to a program yet, I'd encourage you to come. It's so important to have people who support and love you walking with you in life.
